5G-based sensor solution for plant monitoring in the steel and metal industry
SMS group, a leading international provider of future-oriented technology in mechanical and plant engineering, is creating a sensor-based solution for condition monitoring and fault prevention in the production environment. Thanks to the preconfigured and mobile Campus2Go network from COCUS, the solution is flexible, secure and ready for use by customers in under five hours.
Goals
- Simple machine monitoring in factory halls thanks to sensor solutions in the rapidly deployable Campus2Go 5G network
- Early detection of damage or anomalies to avoid cost-intensive failures and quality defects
- Creation of a digitalization solution for data analysis and predictive maintenance with simplified IT integration
- Flexible 5G digitization solution for predictive maintenance, scalable for different industry use cases
- Fast integration of precise sensor technology without complex cable laying
- Comprehensive system data in real time for quality improvement and process reliability
- Improved quality assurance and reduced liability risks towards customers
- Reduction of labor and inspection costs thanks to automated processes
- Ensuring efficient and long-term maintenance of photovoltaic systems for continuous energy generation
- Early detection of safety-related problems to minimize risks and increase safety
- Basis for the realization of further use cases in our own 5G network for building management, security management such as site surveillance and exhibitor supply.
“With the mobile and flexible 5G Campus2Go from COCUS, we can provide our customers with a scalable sensor infrastructure - without interrupting production and with immediate added value for quality assurance and process reliability.”
