Blockchain Applications in the Travel Industry – Smart Contracts in Practice: Dr. Lukas Schack, Head of Blockchain Engineering at TUI Group, spoke on 29.06.2018 about blockchain applications developed in cooperation with COCUS for the travel industry. With “Bed swap” – the first blockchain project of the TUI Group,the blockchain enables a bed utilization of almost 100 percent for the company. This is particularly exciting for bed capacities that have already been purchased and do not experience any occupancy. These can then be easily sold from one source market to another.
