The impending spring gives the Rhineland Sports Federation hope not only for many sunny days, but also for rays of hope in the relaxation of sports. Since 08 March 2021, up to 10 sports enthusiasts from the Rhineland have been allowed to meet for outdoor sports if the incidence number is below 50. The government’s plan for the coming weeks: falling infection figures and further relaxation in contact and indoor sports. The Sportbund Rheinland’s plan: hygiene concepts, digital tracking and preparation for the long-awaited day when the gates of the halls are finally allowed to open again.
Save time & think of the environment with digital participant registration
In order to be able to enjoy sports to the full extent again soon, clubs have to present sophisticated hygiene concepts. This also includes the collection of personal data of those present at training and competition days, be they athletes, spectators or coaches. This ensures that in the event of an infection, the possible contacts can be identified and notified. A time-consuming act if one relies here on the manual registration of persons with pen and paper. The Rhineland Sports Federation would like to save the approximately 3,100 member clubs with over 600,000 members this effort and the environment the paper and therefore enables the clubs to use the digital attendance list Inscribe in their own federation colours free of charge. Thus, on training and match days, those present can quickly and contactlessly enter their name on the attendance list with the help of a smartphone and QR code, thus supporting contact tracking immensely.
Every club of the Sportbund Rheinland can generate individual QR codes with Inscribe, which are then displayed at the entrance to sporting events. It doesn’t matter whether it’s open-air events or indoor sports. By using the camera function of all common smartphones, the posted QR code can be scanned. This opens the registration form in the internet browser, where people are supposed to leave their contact details. No app needs to be installed on the mobile phone, with just a few clicks you are already registered on the list. Personal data is collected in accordance with the German Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO) and stored on decentralised servers.

At the Sportbund Rheinland, safety comes first
The stored personal information data is guaranteed to be protected from the prying eyes of third parties and can only be accessed by the data protection officer of the Sportbund Rheinland using a personal key. In case of infection, there are no more mountains of paper to conquer and no more deciphering hieroglyphic handwriting. The list with the data of the potential contact persons can be created quickly and sent directly to the health department by e-mail. After four weeks without any risk of infection, the collected data is automatically deleted, thus saving the clubs the administrative effort of manually sifting through and destroying contact forms.
