Starting out on a new career path can be great, but it can also be very bumpy. Newcomers are often faced with new projects and new tasks without all open questions having been clarified. But it doesn’t have to be that way! Many companies now rely on an extensive onboarding and buddy program to help newbies get started in the company and retain them for the long term. At COCUS, we focus on both!
COCUS Buddies
Our COCUS Buddy accompanies the “newcomers” even when they are no longer new and is always available with an open ear and as a sparring partner. The focus of the program is primarily on support and is not intended to give the feeling of instruction. During parallel project support, the experienced project manager can often use his years of experience to quickly identify potential problems and risks in order to steer the newcomer in the right direction. This helps to avoid errors and achieve better results in the long term.
"The thing I'm most excited about is when people do better than me afterwards. You can avoid, through my help, the mistakes I made back then."
– Urs Lässer, Buddy and part of COCUS since 2012

The program can be quite different for the newcomers and is always adapted individually. While some have specific questions about methods, others may need more input on issues around managing projects or dealing with customers. Individual support and learning together are at the forefront of COCUS!
