Innovation fair FUTURE logistics

Innovationsmesse FUTURE logistics 2022 – COCUS as Speaker

Innovation fair for the future of logistics

The startport in Duisburg’s inland port is an innovation platform for future thinkers and start-ups with a focus on the logistics sector. The “Garage for Today’s Geniuses” gives founders access to expertise, investors and users to turn tomorrow’s ideas into reality. The young company offers logistics start-ups from Germany the space and support to realize their ideas more easily and develop them into a successful business model more quickly.

On 05.05.2022, the FUTURE logistics innovation fair took place for the first time, where everything revolved around a digital and sustainable future of logistics. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., visitors to the fair were able to take a look at logistics innovations and watch exciting presentations and panel discussions at the Museum of German Inland Navigation.

COCUS AG was also on site as a partner and speaker. In the presentation “5G infrastructure from COCUS shapes the future of logistics at Seehafen Wismar GmbH” presented by Sascha Hellermann, visitors to the trade fair were able to get an idea of the deployment of COCUS’ 5G Campus network at the seaport’s premises.

COCUS AG is implementing a customized 5G mobile private network on the 60-hectare indoor and outdoor site. The Open-RAN based network is delivered with all necessary hardware and software components for the planned deployment and operation. The seaport of Wismar uses the 5G infrastructure for process automation. Existing ship loaders at the seaport will be upgraded with a ship loader automation system for fully autonomous operation of the machines to enable full remote control. In addition, the seaport is testing remote-controlled vehicles with the goal of implementing fully automated vehicle operations in the future.

We would like to thank the organizers of the Innovation Fair and look forward to the next time!
