Hiring without the headaches: How RaaS by Prosource is helping businesses focus on what really matters

Tough times often spark the best ideas – and this one came to life exactly when hiring was slowing down. At a time when recruitment demands were lower, my colleague Miguel Moreira and I took a step back and realized something powerful: we had built an incredibly efficient recruitment engine that wasn’t being used to its full potential. We knew the tech market had its struggles – and let’s be honest, who hasn’t had frustrating experiences with traditional recruitment consultancies when hiring for IT roles?

Most do the best they can, but the model itself often falls short when it comes to delivering high-quality technical talent, fast. So, we asked: why not flip the model? Why not create a service that acts more like a strategic extension of operational teams, focused on fast, accurate delivery of niche tech profiles – the kind of talent that actually moves the business forward?

And that’s how RaaS by Prosource was born. We didn’t launch it with a fancy go-to-market strategy or flashy campaigns. We simply started delivering – through existing clients, referrals, and our own network.

The beginning of the Prosource success story

One of our first big wins? A German client came to us with a need: a Data Engineer. Time-sensitive, high-impact, and very specific. We rolled up our sleeves, started sourcing, and came back with a shortlist that we felt confident about.

Here’s the kicker: the client didn’t lift a finger during the process – no sourcing, no technical screenings, no challenges or live codes to prep. We handled it all. All they had to do was interview, and even there, their role was crucial: they sold the vision, the project, and made the opportunity shine.

Result? They couldn’t decide between the two final candidates… so they hired both. Mission accomplished – squared. While they stayed focused on operations, we were trusted to find the right people. And guess what? It worked.

Recruitment-as-a-Service that works

Over the years, one of the comments that stuck with me the most was: “Are you sure you’re HR? You sound technical.”. That’s what happens when you build a People team that understands tech, not just screens for keywords.
